Dr. Kaplan has taught graduate programs at the University of North Carolina, Illinois Institute of Technology and Lakeland College. He authored or coauthored more than 30 professional publications. He also taught brain-injury rehabilitation to allied health professionals in Bosnia. Dr. Kaplan developed and maintained a full-time private practice for over three decades before joining the Mental Health staff at the Forest County Potawatomi Health & Wellness Center.

Born and raised on Chicago’s south side in a blue-collar family, Dr. Kaplan moved north to Wisconsin after high school. He worked a variety of jobs before attending graduate school at UWMadison. There, he met his wife. The two have been married for over 40 years and have three adult children and two fur babies. A few of Dr. Kaplan’s hobbies include woodworking and baseball.
